About the position

BAE Systems is seeking a DevSecOps - Deployment Engineer to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in developing automated pipelines for cloud environments and supporting automated build, test, and release deployments. This position is integral to our mission of enhancing analytic modeling capabilities, which are vital for our analytic mission. As a DevSecOps - Deployment Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience with developer productivity, cloud-native applications, and container orchestration. You will be expected to have a solid understanding of micro-service architecture, container development, orchestration, service messages, and security protocols. In this role, you will work in a hybrid environment, balancing collaborative in-person work with independent tasks. Responsibilities

  • Develop automated pipelines for cloud environments.
  • Support automated build, test, and release deployments.
  • Facilitate and ensure widespread user adoption of Analytic Modeling capabilities.
  • Work with developer productivity and cloud-native applications.
  • Manage container orchestration and micro-service architecture.
  • Automate menial tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams to understand customer needs and priorities.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (BS) plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a DevSecOps culture and supporting teams for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) of containerized applications.
  • Experience with helm charts and Docker.
  • Understanding of AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with scripting languages and operating systems software (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Basic understanding of scripting & software development packages for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform or equivalent configuration management tools.
  • Experience deploying enterprise scale applications to production using cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Strong team building skills that enable collaboration and coordination within and across teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAC card with NGA Core experience.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Security+ 8570 certification.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
  • AWS or similar Cloud Provider Experience.
  • Solid understanding of Message Service NATS, Kafka, Redis.
  • Experience using GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
  • Strong Linux and Networking background.
  • Experience with SWIG.
  • Software development experience with Java.
