About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer role at Booz Allen is focused on developing, managing, and securing a container platform to meet client needs while leveraging cloud capabilities. The engineer will work on container management software, ensuring seamless orchestration and supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. This position requires collaboration with teams to recommend resources for managing and securely adopting containers, while also enhancing skills in the latest cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a container platform that meets client needs.
  • Support the development of critical cloud platforms using DevOps skills.
  • Recommend resources for clients to manage and securely adopt containers.
  • Inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.
  • Utilize technical skills to affect mission-forward change.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with containerization tools, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience orchestrating and managing CI/CD pipelines, including GitLabCI, Jenkins, and GitHub actions.
  • Experience with IaC tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Python or Golang.
  • Experience with policy-as-code solutions, including Checkov, Open Policy Agent, or Trivy IaC scanning.
  • Experience developing and implementing custom scalable platform engineering or security solutions across multi-region cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with software and cloud architectural design patterns, including Queue-based load leveling, API Composition, Backend for Frontends, API Gateways, or Microservices.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience as a cloud security engineer, DevSecOps engineer, or software engineer, or 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience resolving or assisting with the resolution of production issues in established ITSM constructs, including SLA and OLA.
  • Knowledge of key cloud native application concepts, including 12 factor apps, migration strategies, or immutability.
  • Ability to work across multiple operating systems and technology stacks in an Agile environment with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Cloud Certification, including AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Networking, AWS Machine Learning, or AWS Security.
  • DevSecOps Professional or GIAC Cloud Security Automation Certification.
