About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer at NATO's Innovation Hub in Norfolk, Virginia, is responsible for integrating security into every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role aims to enhance the efficiency and reliability of NATO's digital platforms by implementing a security-first DevOps framework and developing automated security solutions that meet high-security standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement security measures throughout the SDLC, including threat modeling, code reviews, and vulnerability assessments, while supporting automated testing and secure code deployment.
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that incorporate security checks at every stage, ensuring rapid, secure, and compliant software deployment.
• Manage security monitoring tools, responding swiftly to incidents and adapting defenses based on real-time data. Develop incident response plans to address potential threats.
• Work closely with NATO's developers, IT, and cybersecurity teams to integrate secure coding practices and support the continuous improvement of security protocols.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of security measures and configurations, ensuring compliance with NATO standards and enhancing system resilience.

Requirements

• Proficiency in DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker), programming languages (Python, Bash), and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify).
• 5+ years in DevSecOps or related roles within secure, multinational, or defense environments.
• Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) and security monitoring solutions is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP) are a plus.
• Active Secret clearance.
