About the position

Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support KDS and our government customer. This is a full-time remote opportunity that involves developing, automating, and managing CI/CD configurations and pipelines. The role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, troubleshooting back-end processes, and implementing frequent releases. The ideal candidate will provide guidance to technical staff, work directly with engineering teams, and manage projects across cross-functional teams while building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules. The DevSecOps Engineer will utilize Agile methodology to deliver products, collect requirements, review and help write functional and test specifications, and coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new feature sets. The role also involves obtaining and providing visibility into progress and impediments, escalating concerns where appropriate, and summarizing team objectives, iteration objectives, and program objectives to communicate them across project teams. The candidate will coach teams and stakeholders in lean/agile practices, facilitate communication and collaboration within and around the team, and identify and remove organizational and team impediments. A solid understanding of DevSecOps tools and concepts is essential, along with the ability to write and review detailed documentation. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team. The working environment is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position, and involves routine use of standard office equipment. The incumbent must be able to handle moderate stress and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance for technical staff.
  • Work directly with engineering teams.
  • Manage projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Use Agile methodology to deliver products.
  • Collect requirements, review and help write functional and test specifications, and coordinate efforts to scope, schedule, and deploy new feature sets.
  • Coordinate interdependencies across project teams.
  • Obtain and provide visibility into progress and impediments, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Summarize team objectives, iteration objectives, and program objectives and communicate them across project teams.
  • Coach teams and stakeholders in lean/agile practices and mindset.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within and around the team (release & sprint planning, user stories, backlog grooming, Agile testing, etc.).
  • Identify and remove organization and team impediments and help resolve issues and conflicts.
  • Facilitate system demonstrations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Must be Secret clearable.
  • Experience managing or working with low-code platforms such as Salesforce, Appian, ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, GitLab, Fargate, Packer, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud security concepts, tools, and automation.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, Node.js, Python, and Bash.
  • Ability to develop custom software and scripts as needed.
  • Experience with service-oriented architecture and web application/services development.
  • Experience with source code management tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable in Agile Development Methodology, especially Scrum.
  • Object Oriented design and implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of configuration management practices.
