About the position

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in transforming technology solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD). This position involves crafting cloud architecture designs and technical artifacts to support the development of next-generation technologies. The engineer will lead technical meetings, mentor junior developers, and advise leadership on cloud solutions and IT strategies, ensuring integration with business planning to enhance client value.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer IT needs into cloud architecture designs and technical artifacts.
  • Lead technical meetings and integrate requirements with IT strategies and programs.
  • Mentor junior developers to help them grow into solutions architects.
  • Advise organizational leadership on emerging cloud solutions and open system technologies.
  • Ensure continuous integration of IT and business planning to increase business capability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical research and development within systems infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development with responsibility over subordinate developers.
  • 3+ years of experience with software and infrastructure-as-code in a DevSecOps environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with commercial CSPs like AWS or Microsoft Azure, and knowledge of containers and micro-services.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 10+ years of experience in information management systems, or 15+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Directive 8570 or 8140 Series IAT Level II Certification within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software engineering and API development.
  • Experience designing and automating cloud resource provisioning and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Familiarity with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and command-line interfaces.
  • Experience with Gitlab and the Atlassian tool suite.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines and Agile development techniques.
  • Knowledge of network technologies such as DNS and Load Balancing.
  • Top Secret clearance and IAT Level III Certification.
