About the position
The DevSecOps Engineer - Sr. at SMX is responsible for managing enterprise container hosting platforms both on-premises and in the AWS Cloud. This role involves participating in the deployment lifecycle, providing technical evaluations, and supporting mission owners with container expertise. The position requires a strong technical skill set in modern containerization technologies and familiarity with DevOps methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the deployment lifecycle for enterprise container hosting platforms on-premises and within AWS.
- Provide technical evaluation of requirements, technical design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and sustainment of container platforms and infrastructure.
- Support Mission Owners and provide expertise for container technologies within NAWCAD.
- Troubleshoot issues and onboard new Mission Owners with AWS components and services.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Clearance.
- Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
- Experience in deploying infrastructure as code with Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Extensive knowledge of DoD Enterprise on-premise networks.
- Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud capabilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong Linux background, specifically RedHat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience in the AWS GovCloud platform.
- Experience in DoD Navy networks.
- Basic understanding of developing/working with APIs.
- Basic understanding of source code management and version control systems.
- Experience with Windows Active Directory, ACAS, DNS, and STIG remediation.
- At least 1 year of experience with Java, Python, R, or other programming languages.
- Basic understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and data integration needs.
- Possess cloud-related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer.
