About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer will play a crucial role in the deployment lifecycle of enterprise container hosting platforms, both on-premises and in the AWS Cloud. This position requires a strong technical background in modern containerization technologies and a passion for technology, as the engineer will support the Navy team at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in various technical evaluations, designs, implementations, and sustainment of container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the deployment lifecycle for enterprise container hosting platforms on-premises and within AWS.
• Provide technical evaluation of requirements, technical design, implementation, documentation, deployment, and sustainment of container platforms and underlying infrastructure.
• Coordinate with DevOps/DevSecOps teams and understand CI/CD pipeline processes.
• Support Mission Owners and provide expertise for container-related issues within NAWCAD.
• Troubleshoot issues and onboard new Mission Owners as needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Clearance.
• Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II certified (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
• Experience in deploying infrastructure as code with Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with DoD Enterprise on-premise networks.
• Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong Linux background, specifically RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience in the AWS GovCloud platform.
• Experience in DoD Navy networks.
• Basic understanding of developing/working with APIs.
• Basic understanding of source code management and version control systems.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory, ACAS, DNS, and STIG remediation.
• At least 1 year of experience with Java, Python, R, or other programming languages.
• Basic understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and data integration needs.
• Possess cloud-related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, Developer, etc.
