About the position

Tapestry Solutions, a Boeing Company, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join their team in O'Fallon, IL. This hybrid position involves supporting the Mobility Enterprise Information Services (MEIS), which provides essential net-centric services for the Mobility Air Force (MAF) command and control applications. The MEIS framework is designed to facilitate the deployment of reusable common platforms and IT services, contributing to the overall service-oriented architecture strategy of USTRANSCOM. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support the U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command's global mission. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing code, conducting preliminary tests, deploying, documenting, and improving software architectures and algorithms. You will integrate software components into fully functional solutions and implement contemporary software practices and methodologies. Your work will involve developing, testing, and maintaining digital software applications, troubleshooting software issues, and conducting root cause analysis. You will also define design patterns for software implementation and contribute to the overall architecture and design of software systems. The position requires participation in internal and external software application architecture reviews, providing data and recommendations for project planning, and ensuring compliance with project management reviews and audits. You will develop and maintain unit tests for code and participate in software integration efforts with large-scale applications. This role is essential for ensuring the highest quality of services across development, non-production, and production environments, leveraging current best practices in CI/CD tools and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop code for software applications using current and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct preliminary tests and deploy software solutions while documenting and maintaining architectures and algorithms.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software solution.
  • Implement contemporary software practices, methodologies, and architectural approaches for solution development and deployment.
  • Develop, test, and maintain digital software applications, troubleshooting software issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Define design patterns for software implementation and contribute to software system architectures and designs.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and processes.
  • Support project management reviews and compliance audits, providing data and recommendations for software component level project planning.
  • Participate in internal and external software application architecture reviews and process reviews.
  • Develop, maintain, and unit test code, ensuring high-quality software designs and algorithms.

Requirements

  • Experience with build systems and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts and tools like AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience using DevSecOps tools in an AWS cloud environment, such as Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and SonarQube.
  • Experience working with AWS services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
