About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer at eSimplicity is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions to enhance security and efficiency in federal agency operations. This role involves managing cloud infrastructure, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance with security policies while collaborating with engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions that improve the health and lives of Americans.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions.
  • Deploy and debug cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives.
  • Ensure efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions according to security policies.
  • Provide implementation and administrative support for AWS or Azure Cloud services.
  • Manage cloud-based infrastructure using automation techniques for application integration.
  • Implement and administer a CI/CD (DevSecOps) pipeline for all systems and services.
  • Perform installation and management of open-source monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with project teams on diverse problems and projects.
  • Develop scripts to automate daily operational tasks using AWS Cloud Formation/Terraform/Chef/Jenkins.
  • Troubleshoot identity management and authentication issues.
  • Ensure smooth operation of all systems through management, patching, and monitoring.
  • Conduct research and create prototypes for new solutions.
  • Identify weaknesses in tooling and liaise with development and operations teams.
  • Support daily operational incidents and change management cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years experience as a DevSecOps Engineer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in administering and securing cloud environments, particularly AWS.
  • Experience with administering/sizing clusters like Redshift/Snowflake/DataBricks/Hadoop.
  • Expert knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies, and DevSecOps deployments.
  • Proficient with AWS services, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Jenkins, Git, and security scanning tools.
  • Experience in data organization, partitioning strategies, and data retention policies.
  • Strong investigative skills to analyze and resolve AWS Cloud problems.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence.
  • Ability to create detailed requirements and collaborate with government resources.
  • Experience mentoring junior DevSecOps Engineers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in an agile or SAFe environment.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry experience in Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare, or commercial insurance.
  • Direct experience with government agency Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
