About the position

Maxar Technologies is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our agile software development team, which is dedicated to building mission-critical applications that have a real-world impact for the Intelligence Community. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage and optimize our Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, ensuring that resources and deployments are effectively handled across multiple networks and environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevSecOps practices and will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines for various enterprise applications. In this role, you will troubleshoot and debug production systems in collaboration with the development team, manage AWS infrastructure, and design new cloud solutions and architectures. You will also run and manage cybersecurity, code quality, and accreditation scans, assisting with ATO Accreditation as needed. Working closely with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and the development team, you will fulfill accreditation requirements and achieve Authority to Operate (ATO). Your responsibilities will include overseeing builds, deployments, packaging, integration, automation, and releases, as well as continuously monitoring and evaluating system performance and availability. Responsibilities

  • Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift environment, resources and deployments across multiple networks and environments.
  • Build, maintain and improve Helm charts and Jenkins pipelines for multiple enterprise mission critical applications across multiple domains.
  • Troubleshoot and debug production systems with the development team.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure, design and propose new cloud solutions and architectures.
  • Run and manage cybersecurity, code quality, and accreditation scans.
  • Assist with ATO Accreditation where needed.
  • Work with ISSO and dev team to fulfill accreditation requirements and achieve ATO.
  • Work with team for completion and compliance of security controls and STIGs.
  • Oversee and execute builds, deployments, packaging, integration, automation and releases.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate system and environment performance and availability.

Requirements

  • Current/active TS/SCI with a current CI polygraph or be willing and able to obtain a CI polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, e.g. Computer Science, Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a DevSecOps, DevOps, or Production System Support role.
  • Kubernetes and/or Openshift experience in production environments.
  • Docker and containerization expertise.
  • Helm / Helm Charts familiarity.
  • Experience creating and managing Jenkins builds and pipelines in development and production environments.
  • Git/Github/Gitlab familiarity as part of a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Tenacious troubleshooting, problem solving and error fixing mentality.
  • Strong Linux and bash scripting skills.
  • One or more build tools: Maven, NPM, PIP, Make.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II and Privileged User Access requirements met (Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP), or the ability to achieve within 30 days of hire.
