About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer role involves designing, building, securing, and operating software solutions for Federal Government organizations, particularly supporting the U.S. Air Force. The position focuses on automation, infrastructure security, compliance, incident monitoring, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, while leveraging cloud and containerization technologies to improve operational efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated build, test, and deployment processes leveraging DevSecOps best practices.
  • Manage containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Perform security hardening and performance tuning for EKS clusters.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts.
  • Optimize Kubernetes resource allocation and autoscaling configurations.
  • Integrate security tools and practices into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with DoD standards such as NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design.
  • Maintain and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-based resources.
  • Integrate DevSecOps tools and services to enable automated pipelines that support customer applications throughout their SDLC.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams and contribute to the development of DevSecOps strategies and roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in CI/CD, DevSecOps, AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Automation for System Administration and Operations.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices for building services in Cloud-based IaaS/PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to support the deployment, troubleshooting, configuration, and interoperability of systems and software.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) solutions using tools like Packer, Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
  • Proficiency in working with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
  • Exceptional communication skills and desire to work in a ‘badgeless” collaborative team environment consisting of Government clients, other Contractors, and Stakeholders.
  • Strong desire to work in a team environment and learn new skills.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.
  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent.

  • Experience with automation tools and practices.

  • Experience in community service or outreach programs.
