About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer at iWorks Corporation is responsible for deploying applications in both on-prem and AWS environments, maintaining DevSecOps templates and pipelines, troubleshooting deployments, and ensuring policy compliance. This role involves automating tasks, monitoring applications, and supporting DevSecOps deployments, contributing to the company's innovative solutions in information technology and professional services for the federal government.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain applications, delivering end-to-end automation of deployment and monitoring of the DevSecOps pipeline in on-premises and/or AWS environments.
  • Support application deployment across different platforms.
  • Work closely with the development team to create an automated continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) system.
  • Develop and automate GitLab CI/CD pipelines and tasks via scripting/coding and automation tools.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Automate tasks and develop custom scripts to enhance operational efficiency and lower human intervention time.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices, generating reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Update documentation (e.g., SOPs/TTPs, policies, etc.) to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and requirements.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate changes to DevSecOps infrastructure to improve performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Top Secret security clearance fully adjudicated.
  • Security + CE certification required.
  • Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent field, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • 3-6+ years of demonstrated experience managing and administering the identified technologies.
  • 3 to 6 years' experience with Ansible, GitLab, DevSecOps, Terraform, Nexus/Maven, Red Hat Linux (RHEL) 7+.
  • 1+ years' working knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, SonarQube.
  • Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills with good problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with and supporting Agile development teams and DevSecOps environments.
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified) to demonstrate expertise in Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience working with DoD systems, showcasing familiarity with defense-related projects and security requirements, STIG and SCAP for hardening and establishing configuration baselines.
