About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer at Zachary Piper Solutions is a pivotal role within the Platform Team, focusing on the creation, management, and optimization of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for a diverse range of applications. This position is distinct from traditional product teams, as it emphasizes a platform-oriented approach that integrates security considerations into the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the platform's architecture and its security implications, ensuring that CI/CD pipelines are not only efficient but also secure. The Platform Team operates in a collaborative environment, ideally co-located, and is recognized for its versatility in handling CI/CD pipeline creation and security specifications. In this role, the DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for implementing DevSecOps practices using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab. The engineer will design, validate, and manage containerized application solutions while optimizing source version controls through modern build and release tools. A key aspect of the position involves streamlining the software build methodology and innovating CI/CD pipelines that cater to a large enterprise ecosystem. The engineer will also be tasked with building CI/CD pipelines from scratch, ensuring they are optimized for performance and reliability, all while prioritizing a security-driven approach across all functionalities. Candidates for this position should have a minimum of one year of professional experience in a related field, with a strong proficiency in orchestrating DevSecOps practices. They should demonstrate a solid background in developing, testing, and managing container-centric applications, as well as experience with source version controls and build/release mechanisms. A commitment to security practices in operations is essential, and candidates must be able to obtain an "Interim Secret" clearance within 30 days of hire, with preference given to those eligible for Top Secret clearance, particularly for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
