About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer plays a crucial role in the National Capital Region, working collaboratively with Development, Engineering, Architecture, and Testing teams to establish tools and processes for the Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) of Government Owned Software. This position focuses on optimizing the continuous delivery pipeline, ensuring compliance with security requirements, and automating processes to enhance efficiency in software development and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or configure, test, stage, and release business applications using the DevSecOps environment and supporting tooling.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation for the Government to analyze DevSecOps processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Conduct business process analysis to optimize software workflow, automation, and feedback loops in the DevSecOps environment.
  • Produce and present DevSecOps metrics to the Government at the conclusion of each Sprint and release.
  • Collaborate with teams to define tools and processes for the continuous delivery pipeline.
  • Ensure tools comply with security requirements.
  • Streamline the Authority to Operate (ATO) process from a tools and technical perspective.
  • Automate testing where possible.
  • Align CI/CD processes with operational requirements.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience with agile development.
  • DoD8570 Certification (Security +) required within 6 months after hire.
  • OS-Based/Cloud Certification (Cloud Native / Kubernetes Certification preferred, such as CKA, but AWS/Linux Certifications accepted) required within 6 months after hire.
  • AWS Experience.
  • Kubernetes Experience.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Familiarity with deploying software at the TS/SCI level to NSA Network (NSANet).
  • Familiar with NSANet approved tools for system configuration and management (e.g., SIMP, Puppet, Ansible, and CS2 Scripts).
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: software development, configuration control, testing, security, automation, containerization, orchestration, cloud services, open-source technologies.
