About the position

Credence Management Solutions, a federal government contracting firm, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join its growing organization to support a key client. The ideal candidate will provide expertise in configuring and maintaining various DevOps tools, including but not limited to GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube. This role involves implementing and supporting platforms for containerized applications using AWS managed services such as EKS. The DevSecOps Engineer will also support the implementation, development, and utilization of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that the software delivery process is efficient and reliable. In addition to technical responsibilities, the engineer will provide recommendations on technology direction to align with the business vision. This position requires applying advanced technical knowledge for software engineering to support various projects while utilizing modern best practices. The engineer will design, deploy, and support automation and scripting solutions to drive new capabilities, visibility, and efficiency on projects. Collaboration across teams is essential, as the engineer will gather and understand business requirements to provide solutions with a deep knowledge of AWS Services.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain DevOps tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube.
  • Implement and support platforms for containerized applications using AWS managed services such as EKS.
  • Develop and utilize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Provide recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge for software engineering across projects utilizing modern best practices.
  • Design, deploy, and support automation and scripting solutions to enhance project capabilities and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams to gather business requirements and provide solutions leveraging AWS Services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong foundation with Kubernetes.
  • Experience supporting containerized workloads in AWS.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Basic understanding of networking setup.
  • Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and log searching.
  • Understanding of metrics, monitoring, alarming, and dashboarding concepts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and/or distributed systems.
  • Associate or Professional level AWS certifications.
  • CompTIA Sec+ Certification.
  • Experience with US Federal or Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
