About the position

Amentum is currently seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our award-winning team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the analysis of software performance characteristics throughout the software development life cycle and test cycle. This includes measuring computer processing time usage and developing better methods for disk space utilization, network loading, and throughput. You will also enable the design, coding, and maintenance of software support tools and models, which are essential for enhancing the efficiency of our software development processes. Additionally, you will support the analysis of various tools that aid in the software development process. This includes working with test automation tools, code coverage tools, and memory checking tools to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and security. Your contributions will be vital in improving the continuous improvement and continuous delivery pipeline of our software development factory, ensuring that we deliver innovative solutions to our clients in a timely manner. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps process, ensuring that security is a fundamental part of our software development lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Support analysis of software performance characteristics in the software development life cycle and test cycle.
  • Measure computer processing time usage and develop better methods for disk space utilization, network loading, and throughput.
  • Enable the design, coding, and maintenance of software support tools and models.
  • Support the analysis of tools to aid in the software development process, including test automation tools, code coverage tools, and memory checking tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with 4 years of experience, or a Master's of Science with 2 years of experience from a School of Engineering.
  • Possession or desire to pursue a Comptia Security+ or equivalent Certification, or ability to obtain within 1 month of start.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active SECRET security clearance; US citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, GitLab, Docker, Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, Scripting YAML, SAST (Static Application Security Testing), DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing).
  • Familiarity with frameworks and methods to improve the continuous improvement/continuous delivery pipeline of a software development factory.
