About the position

Tapestry Solutions, a Boeing Company, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join their team in O'Fallon, IL. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work both remotely and onsite, providing flexibility while contributing to critical projects. Tapestry Solutions has over 30 years of experience in designing, implementing, training, and supporting logistics information systems, and is dedicated to delivering high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective information technology and business intelligence solutions to a diverse range of customers, including defense, commercial, and government sectors. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Mobility Enterprise Information Services (MEIS), which is essential for modernizing and enhancing command and control applications for the U.S. Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing software applications, integrating software components, and implementing contemporary software practices and methodologies. You will also be involved in troubleshooting software issues, conducting root cause analysis, and contributing to the development and maintenance of software application architectures. The position requires a strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools, as well as experience with security frameworks and practices. You will be expected to participate in project management reviews and compliance audits, ensuring that software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and security. This role is integral to the overall service-oriented architecture strategy of USTRANSCOM, making it a key position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications using current and emerging technologies.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software solution.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and practices.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of software application architectures.
  • Participate in internal and external software application architecture reviews.
  • Provide data, recommendations, and estimates for software component level project planning.
  • Develop, select, tailor, and deploy contemporary processes and frameworks for CI/CD.
  • Coordinate and participate in process reviews, project management reviews, and compliance audits.
  • Develop, maintain, and unit test code.

Requirements

  • Must have CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience working with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience working with security scan products.
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with POAM: Plan of Action Milestone.
  • Remediation Processing experience.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) concepts and tools like AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience using DevSecOps tools in an AWS cloud environment, such as Ansible, Artifactory, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and SonarQube.
  • Experience working with AWS services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and S3.
