About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer will play a crucial role in integrating security into the DevOps lifecycle, ensuring that infrastructure is secure, scalable, and efficient. This position involves collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to automate and enhance systems, focusing on delivering innovative technology solutions that align with government customers' strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate security into the DevOps lifecycle and ensure secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to automate and streamline systems.
  • Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable infrastructure on Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for secure application deployment.
  • Use Terraform to define, build, and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) across multiple environments.
  • Manage and automate container orchestration using Kubernetes for efficient deployments.
  • Implement and automate configuration management using Ansible for consistent environments.
  • Integrate security best practices into the DevOps lifecycle and automate security processes.
  • Promote a DevSecOps culture by ensuring security is part of the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor system performance, identify security risks, and implement countermeasures.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 10 years of professional experience, or 20 years of experience in lieu of a Master's degree.
  • Expertise in Azure and AWS, including security services and cloud-native tools.
  • Strong experience with Jenkins for automating build and deployment pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for defining and managing infrastructure.
  • In-depth experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Skilled in Ansible for automating server provisioning and configuration.
  • Strong focus on automation with scripting abilities in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications in Azure, AWS, or security (e.g., AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer).
  • Experience with additional CI/CD and DevSecOps tools such as Jira, Slack, Bitbucket, GitHub, Docker, etc.
  • Prior V.A. experience.
