About the position

Maximus is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a federal client in maintaining mission-critical systems for national defense. This role involves integrating security practices into the software development lifecycle and ensuring the reliability and security of systems. The engineer will innovate and develop solutions through automation, collaborating with development and operations teams to implement secure infrastructure and maintain compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and develop cutting-edge solutions through automation.
• Ensure infrastructure, services, and applications meet security, monitoring, performance, and SLA standards.
• Release production code and develop PaaS/SaaS solutions.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain secure and automated infrastructure.
• Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain containerization and micro-services.
• Integrate security controls into the CI/CD process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Automate and orchestrate security processes using technologies like Splunk and Chef Automate.
• Stay updated with emerging DevSecOps trends and provide recommendations for new technologies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• 12+ years of experience as a DevSecOps Engineer or related field.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker Enterprise, Splunk, Chef, Chef Automate, Puppet, Ansible, Kubernetes, Openshift.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC), Jenkins groovy scripts, and Python.
