About the position

Azimuth Corporation is seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to provide expert onsite support to our Springfield, VA area team. This role is crucial in ensuring the security and efficiency of our development and operational processes. The DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for integrating security practices within the DevOps process, ensuring that security is a key component of the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, cloud technologies, and security protocols, with a focus on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices. In this position, the engineer will be expected to record status updates daily in designated GEOINT Services tooling as directed by the Product Owner. Participation in weekly team standups and monthly briefings with team leadership is essential, as is collaboration with the Task Coordinator. The engineer will also be tasked with sustaining and improving existing HARLEM, MIQ, and CI/CD pipelines, as well as patching and adding features to the HARLEM and MIQ applications as designated by the Product Owner. Additionally, the engineer will utilize existing UC2S CI/CD pipelines as a guide to implement similar configurations on other domains and environments as directed by the Product Owner. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The DevSecOps Engineer will be expected to demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in their work, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Recording status updates daily in designated GEOINT Services tooling as designated by the Product Owner
  • Attending weekly team standups and monthly briefings with team leadership
  • Collaborating with the Task Coordinator
  • Sustaining and improving existing HARLEM, MIQ, CI/CD pipelines
  • Patching and adding features to HARLEM, MIQ App as designated by the Product Owner
  • Using existing UC2S CI/CD pipelines as a guide to implementing similar configurations on other domains/environments as designated by the Product Owner

Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant experience and a BA/BS degree OR 8 years of experience and a MA/MS degree OR 5 years relevant experience and a PhD degree
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Experience submitting, monitoring, and ensuring completion of Size, Weight & Power requests to install computer hardware
  • Experience with Request for Security Impacts Determinations (SIDRs) or equivalent
  • Experience with Information Technology (IT) computer customer service requests
  • Experience with Assessment and Authorization or equivalent processes
  • 2+ years with Authorization to Operate (ATO) certifications
  • Experience with Firewall Change Requests (FCRs) for Unclassified, Secret, and Top-Secret Commercial Cloud Service
  • 2+ years with System, architecture, network, and communication status checking through Command Line Interfaces (CLI)
  • Experience with issue investigations and code reviews using GITLAB
  • Experience with problem resolution report investigations using ThreadFix
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and as a team
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills
  • 3+ years of experience with architecting and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • 3+ years of Linux Admin experience (or certificate)
  • Worked 1 UC2S/SC2S and 1 TC2S FCR from beginning to end
  • Experience with DevOps Tools and technologies including Git CLI, GITLAB, Threadfix, Ansible, and GITLAB/Jenkins pipelines
  • Experience administering and deploying with Docker build/Docker-compose/Kubernetes/Linux operating systems
  • Experience with automation tools, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Experience with automating system configurations and orchestrating network operations and DevOps pipelines, scaling, releases, and day-to-day system operations in Cloud environments
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance (CI Poly may be required)

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, or monitoring and testing, such as continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Experience with provisioning and managing infrastructure and applications in Cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with identifying and implementing automation to improve user experience (UX)
  • Experience with open technologies, DevOps, and related Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GITLAB, Jenkins, GitHub, and Git, Docker, or Terraform
  • Experience with system integration using a variety of protocols, including JSON, REST, and XML
  • Experience with leveraging JSON, YAML, or XML for configuration
  • Cloud Certification, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate Certification, Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect Certification, or MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Certification.
