About the position

The position involves assisting in the design, development, and administration of developer tools across multiple environments, focusing on architecture for products such as CI/CD platforms and Git infrastructure. The role requires a strong background in Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and IT system security standards, with an emphasis on supporting engineering applications and maintaining production systems. The candidate will work within a team to ensure mission and business success by applying innovative tools and robust processes.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal customers, security, and management teams for maintaining production systems and resolving issues.
  • Perform system maintenance including auditing logs, patching/upgrading software, backups, and user account management.
  • Work with software development lifecycle concepts such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), DevOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD).
  • Install, maintain, and support multiple Windows and Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms.
  • Support engineering applications including JAMA, Syndia, Tasktop, and BAE Software Factory.
  • Support Rancher environments, including Kubernetes, GitLab, Artifactory, Vault, and Grafana.
  • Support DevSecOps tools including Atlassian Tools, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
  • Deploy new instances/enhancements/upgrades of applications in classified environments.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and across the company.

Requirements

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field required plus 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across OS, applications, and networks.
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain security clearance as required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux servers, scripting, and support (Ansible).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and cloud-based technologies (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with VMware technologies (vSphere ESXI, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager).
  • Experience with AWS services (KMS, VPC, IAM Roles, S3, EC2).
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab).
