About the position

Eaton's ES AMER DIG division is currently seeking a DevSecOps Manager for the Cloud Applications Center of Excellence (CoE). This role is pivotal for individuals who possess solid experience in Internet of Things (IoT), Software as a Service (SaaS), DevSecOps, and cloud-based development. The position is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. As a DevSecOps Manager, you will be part of an Agile project team consisting of over 50 international teammates, contributing to the digitalization and energy transition challenges faced by the industry. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining secure and automated processes for cloud-based applications. You will manage a team of developers and security experts, ensuring the creation, execution, and maintenance of secure processes in a cloud-native environment. Your leadership will be crucial in designing and executing a comprehensive DevSecOps plan that emphasizes security and efficiency. You will promote best practices and tools for cloud-native development, security, and operations, while also leading the development of automation and tooling to streamline the DevSecOps process, thereby reducing manual work and enhancing efficiency. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work with cross-functional teams to identify and rectify security vulnerabilities within the development processes. You will also track and evaluate system performance and security metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement. Mentoring and advising team members will be part of your responsibilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Regular training sessions and workshops will be organized to educate the team on DevSecOps principles and practices, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of industry standards and innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain secure and automated processes for cloud-based applications.
  • Manage a team of developers and security experts to create, run, and maintain secure processes.
  • Design and execute a DevSecOps plan to ensure security and efficiency in a cloud-native environment.
  • Promote best practices and tools for cloud-native development, security, and operations.
  • Lead the development of automation and tooling to simplify the DevSecOps process.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to find and fix security vulnerabilities in development processes.
  • Track and evaluate system performance and security metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Advise and mentor team members to encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Organize regular training and workshops to teach the team about DevSecOps principles and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years of DevOps implementation and management in a production environment.
  • 3+ years of cloud infrastructure, deployment pipeline, and DevOps platforms architecture experience.
  • 3+ years of people and leader management experience required.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Experience with observability solutions like Dynatrace or New Relic.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues in distributed systems.
  • Seven or more years of technical experience in IoT systems, cloud solutions, SaaS, and DevSecOps automation.
  • Experience with Azure cloud resources, including Service Fabric Cluster, App Services, Defender, application gateways, containers, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions using Groovy and YAML scripts.
  • Familiarity with data storage technologies: Azure SQL, Cosmos, PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of software development cycle in an agile environment, software architecture patterns, and product development methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud automation using IaC with Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell scripting, and Bash for Linux distributions.
  • Experience with DevSecOps pipeline integration with tools such as Threat Modeler, JIRA, Bitbucket, Black Duck, Coverity, GitHub Enterprise.
