Apex Systems is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer for a 100% remote position with an immediate start. This role is a 6-month contract with the potential for hire, requiring the candidate to travel once a month to Salt Lake City, Utah. The primary responsibilities include building and maintaining containerized infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS), deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, and configuring a suite of tools accredited by the Department of Defense (DoD) using a big bang methodology. The engineer will also be tasked with building Software Factories for developers and end users, supporting the ongoing lifecycle maintenance of the DevSecOps toolchain, and architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure build, test, and deployment. In this role, the engineer will work closely with development teams to integrate dependencies and backend components through automated pipelines, troubleshoot application deployments to Kubernetes clusters, and assist teams with DevSecOps issues related to performance and configuration. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to secure software project builds, deployments, and monitoring. Additionally, the engineer will provide insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation related to engineering projects, ensuring that processes and procedures are well-documented and followed.
