About the position
Global InfoTek, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team at Lackland Air Force Base, TX. This position is crucial for supporting our customers and enhancing the Air Force organization, where customer satisfaction is our top priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions, particularly in on-premises, air-gapped systems, which are essential for the development of both conventional and cloud-native applications. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be responsible for leading major technology assignments and evaluating performance results to recommend significant changes that will impact project growth and success. You will function as a technical expert across various teams and tasks, potentially leading other team members. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of agile and DevSecOps methodologies, as well as hands-on experience with tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, and other CI/CD tools. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining documentation for implementations, developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications, and building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for a large enterprise environment. You will also work with cloud systems and architectures, including Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure, and develop software using languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Packer, Terraform, and Ansible is essential. Additionally, you should be comfortable working in a Linux environment and have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with high-performing teams across multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions in on-premises, air-gapped systems.
- Lead major technology assignments and evaluate performance results.
- Create and maintain documentation for implementations.
- Develop, test, and maintain containerized applications.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for a large enterprise environment.
- Work with cloud systems and architectures (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
- Develop software using Java, Spring framework, JBoss, Python, JavaScript, node.js, and/or Angular.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Packer, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Collaborate with high-performing teams supporting multiple projects and personnel.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in DevSecOps or related field.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Deep understanding of agile and DevSecOps methodologies.
- Experience with Jenkins, Gitlab, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining containerized applications.
- Working knowledge of source version control, build/release tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Software Build processes.
- Extensive experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
- Development experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Istio is a plus.
