As a DevSecOps Software Engineer II, you will be part of a dynamic team that develops cutting-edge solutions to meet the needs of our customers and partners. This role is situated within the EMC division, where you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and contribute to projects that redefine the future of work. In this position, you will engage in designing, developing, and testing software assignments that are integral to larger projects. You will also be responsible for creating and testing documentation that outlines specific software functionalities. Your role will involve participating in project code reviews, running software tests designed by more experienced engineers, and reviewing test results to perform root cause analyses. You will provide recommendations and implement solutions to complex issues while ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards. Additionally, you will be tasked with making changes to or upgrading existing software, enhancing and improving technologies to apply to new solutions. You will seek out new tools to analyze and solve problems, exercise judgment within defined procedures, and build productive working relationships both internally and externally. This position requires you to work on-site in Holtsville, NY, three times a week, and may involve providing guidance to non-exempt personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of software assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project.
  • Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific software functionality.
  • Participates and provides some input in project code reviews.
  • Runs software tests designed by more experienced engineers.
  • Reviews test results and performs root cause analyses to identify problems.
  • Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues, ensuring compliance with quality processes and standards.
  • Makes changes to or upgrades existing software and enhances existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
  • Makes and implements recommendations to the immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity.
  • Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments.
  • May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
  • Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  • Experience working with Cloud Security, Vulnerability scanning tools, Crypto key signing, and obfuscation of libraries.
  • Expertise in deploying and managing tools like git/github, gerrit, artifactory, and jenkins for source code and build artifacts management.
  • Good knowledge of Python and shell scripts.
  • Must be able to work in the Holtsville office 3 times a week.
