About the position

The DevSecOps Solutions Architect at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is responsible for architecting and building DevSecOps infrastructure and capabilities to support Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) mission partners. This role involves ensuring that development processes incorporate security best practices, leading proposal efforts, and collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet stringent security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure development and software continuous integration continuous delivery (CI/CD) uses security best practices throughout the process.
  • Lead writing DevSecOps solutioning on proposal efforts for strategic company growth.
  • Ensure capabilities that are deployed are tested and meet security requirements.
  • Work with cloud deployment activities to ensure configurations meet NIST, STIG, JSIG and other DoD required security standards.
  • Recommend and implement automation routines for various repeated tasks.
  • Define, create, review, and maintain configuration for application deployments, pipelines, services, etc., including the associated required compliance measures.
  • Identify and implement needed alterations/configurations for various NIST, JSIG, and DISA requirements for elevated classification environments.
  • Lead a DevSecOps team, collaborating with others to continuously deliver products and value for the organization and its customers.
  • Champion Agile development processes and adoption of modern DevSecOps workflows and practices while providing technical guidance to team members and co-workers on best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate technological or process-related risks impacting development.
  • Set up and manage the development environment, configuring and maintaining various cloud-based services, and managing/maintaining/enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Innovate and recommend improvements for software and/or data delivery and conveyance.
  • Recommend prioritized fixes to the customer to implement quickly and efficiently for production incidents to support user-base in complex environments.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of proven experience as a Software Engineering, DevSecOps (Gov't), or DevOps (Commercial) solutions architecture experience.
  • Knowledge with container-based technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and writing pipelines with tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or related technology.
  • Capable of implementing Infrastructure as Code with technologies like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or related technology.
  • Expertise in DevOps technologies, concepts, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, FluxCD, or related technologies.
  • Understanding of modern programming languages (C++, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related field.
