About the position

The DevSecOps Specialist position at Scott AFB, IL, is a full-time role focused on integrating security practices within the DevOps process. The primary responsibilities include managing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring software maintenance throughout its lifecycle, and embedding security practices into development and deployment processes. The role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with development, operations, and security teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. The specialist will also implement observability measures, such as monitoring and logging, to ensure the software's performance and security can be effectively analyzed. Candidates for this position should have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a related field, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. An active Secret security clearance is mandatory, and the candidate must be willing to report on-site two times per week. Certifications such as CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, or AWS DevOps - Associate, along with Security+ (to be obtained within six months of onboarding), are also required. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated knowledge in various technologies, including Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS EKS & ECS, Docker, Istio, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, and cloud-native tools, as well as experience in developing automation and onboarding applications in PaaS and runtime environments.

Responsibilities

  • Selecting, deploying, and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.
  • Ensuring the deployed software product is maintained throughout its lifecycle.
  • Embedding security practices into the development and deployment processes.
  • Implementing monitoring and logging to ensure the software's performance and security can be observed and analyzed.
  • Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred).
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to report on-site two times per week.
  • Certifications: CKA, AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps - Associate, and Security+ (within six months of onboarding).
