About the position

The DevSecOps Specialist at Consulting Services Group (CSG) is responsible for integrating security practices into the DevOps process, ensuring the secure development and deployment of software applications. This role involves collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to automate security controls, enhance the security posture of software platforms, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The specialist will also assist with PhysOps and maintain knowledge to provide feedback from real-world software usage.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with development teams during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality against requirements.
• Conduct security testing, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Evaluate system performance under various conditions and optimize software performance.
• Validate software changes before customer testing and ensure acceptance criteria are met.
• Maintain detailed test documentation, checklists, and plans for replication by others.
• Assist with creating and maintaining training materials relevant to the software platform.
• Work with associated teams to maintain skillset and provide necessary fill-ins.

Requirements

• Must hold an active Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible.
• Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
• Ability to explain complex technical procedures and processes clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• PMP or Scrum Master certifications to assist project management.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, project management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or a related field.
• Proven experience with DevSecOps toolkits such as Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira, Black Duck, Terraform, Git/Version Control Software, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with information security frameworks and standards.

• Knowledge of security testing tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and their security features.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (bash/python).
