About the position

The DevSecOps Engineer position at Associates Systems LLC is a critical role that supports the overarching design of the program platform, focusing primarily on the operating system and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) stack. The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration and management of a private cloud environment utilizing VMware, as well as the operation of server hardware and operating systems. This role is essential for maintaining the infrastructure that supports several complex compute environments, which are vital for the operational deployment of a strategic national asset. In this position, the engineer will also support the hardware infrastructure, which includes compute servers, storage solutions, and network configurations. The engineer will be expected to communicate any risks or issues related to system performance, availability, or security effectively. A process-oriented approach is crucial, as the engineer will work collaboratively with the team to implement fixes while ensuring that all changes adhere to the project's change management processes. The role may require on-call support and occasional overtime, emphasizing the need for flexibility and commitment to the team's success. Candidates must possess a current active TS/SCI clearance and Security+ certification, along with a strong background in DevOps system development and automation tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing private cloud environments and a solid understanding of the architecture and design of COTS infrastructure. This position is based in Richardson, TX, and requires on-site presence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the program platform's overarching design focusing on O/S and COTS stack.
  • Manage and configure private cloud environments using VMware.
  • Support hardware infrastructure including compute servers, storage, and networks.
  • Communicate risks or issues involving system performance, availability, or security.
  • Work with the team on fixes while ensuring adherence to change management processes.
  • Provide on-call support and be available for overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Active DOD Secret or Top Secret clearance required.
  • Current active TS/SCI and Security+ certification required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related work experience required.
  • Experience in DevOps system development and related automation tools.
  • Proficiency in matching system requirements to compute capabilities.
  • Experience with the architecture and design of COTS Infrastructure (IT).
  • Proficient working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization (VMware).
  • Ability to prepare and present status, plans, and risks to management.
  • Understanding of Change Management processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in COTS product installation.
  • Experience with Fabric or similar products for O/S builds and software installation.
  • Experience with DISA STIGs.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux System Administration.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash, etc.
