About the position

As a Developer Advocate focused on Cloud Partner at Datadog, you will be part of a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to translating real-world experiences into valuable insights for user communities. Your primary focus will be on Cloud (GCP), where you will have the unique opportunity to engage with key industry leaders and expand your influence within the cloud-native community. This role allows you to leverage both your engineering expertise and creative storytelling abilities to shape the future of cloud observability and monitoring. In this position, you will be responsible for speaking at various events, including conferences, meetups, webinars, and partner gatherings, to educate developers about cloud technologies. You will create diverse content types to enhance Datadog's reputation as a leader in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security. This includes building demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, and contributing to open-source projects. You will collaborate closely with Datadog's Cloud Alliances team and industry partners, serving as a trusted advisor for technical content. Additionally, you will partner with product engineering teams to develop compelling demos and coach internal teams on effective communication and presentation skills. Your contributions will also extend to providing feedback on product enhancements, documentation, and code, as well as identifying opportunities for community-focused events and programs that foster trust with developers.

Responsibilities

  • Speak at conferences, meetups, webinars, and partner events to educate developers in cloud.
  • Create content in various formats to build Datadog's reputation in DevOps, Monitoring, Observability, and Security.
  • Work closely with Datadog's Cloud Alliances team and industry partners as a trusted advisor for technical content.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to build compelling demos and coach internal engineering teams on effective communication and presentation.
  • Contribute to the product through feedback, documentation, or code.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for events, programs, and community-focused work that establishes trust with developers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner, including building and maintaining production systems with GCP services.
  • 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content such as written content, conference talks, leading workshops, live streaming or recording videos, contributing to open source, and participating in community events.
  • Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics.
  • Enjoy self-driven exploration and education on new technologies and languages.
