About the position

The AWS Global Social Media Team (GSMT) is seeking an experienced Developer Advocate Social Media Manager to support the Developer Experience (DevEx) stakeholder group. This role is pivotal in shaping, influencing, and inspiring developers' interactions with the AWS brand and its products across various social media platforms. The Developer Advocate will coordinate content creation with a diverse range of content creators, developer community members, and existing developer advocates within the DevEx team. This position requires a strategic approach to content management, ensuring that all social media activities align with AWS brand guidelines and governance. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on social media performance metrics, defining and implementing social media goals, strategies, content requirements, and intended outcomes in collaboration with the Developer Experience stakeholder group. Daily meetings with stakeholders will be essential to create a thriving social experience for developers, ensuring that content meets their needs and preferences. You will also play a crucial role in increasing the adoption of new products and features by producing high-quality content such as videos, blog posts, and podcasts targeted at engineers and technical end users. Additionally, you will work closely with the Marketing team to create and publish product-focused social media and newsletter content. Developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies that align with business objectives will be a key responsibility, as will launching social programs to enhance the credibility of the AWS brand globally. This includes executing social media campaigns both independently and as part of multi-channel advertising efforts, managing the day-to-day operations of social media channels, and driving cross-functional collaboration with DevEx. You will also partner with external media agencies and social media platforms, while continuously seeking out new and emerging platforms to expand AWS's reach.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report social media performance metrics.

  • Work with the Marketing team to create and publish product-focused social media and newsletter content.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Launch social programs to boost the credibility of the AWS brand worldwide.
  • Execute social media campaigns standalone and as part of multi-channel advertising efforts.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of social media channels, including content creation, publishing, and community management.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with DevEx and partner with external media agencies and social media platforms.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Experience with Excel or Tableau for data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional marketing programs.
  • Experience communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience creating and executing integrated marketing lead generation campaigns using tactics such as live or virtual events, webinars, email, and lead nurture programs.
  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau.
  • Experienced social media marketing manager.
