About the position

The Developer/Analyst II at Meijer is responsible for application coding, configuration, testing, and solving technical problems independently while collaborating with the team on system performance optimization. This role involves working closely with business product owners, developers, and quality analysts to ensure value delivery throughout all phases of Agile software development. The position offers remote and hybrid work options for candidates residing within the Meijer footprint or those willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Codes and/or configures, tests, and implements programs and packages.
• Develops appropriate programs and systems documentation according to SAFe Agile principles and industry standards.
• Runs unit tests, monitors test results, and takes required corrective action.
• Demonstrates initiative and method for solving different problems and proposes effective solutions.
• Assists in the deployment of applications or coordinates, implements, and configures vendor software applications.
• Collaborates with the Business Product Owner and IT partners to create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria for projects.
• Aids in systems development planning and monitoring.
• Understands and practices secure coding techniques and processes while using the Agile framework.
• Participates in structured walk-throughs, secure coding, and technical reviews.
• Participates with other IT members, customers, and stakeholders in new product reviews, tests, and pilots.
• Actively participates in all Agile team ceremonies.
• Assists in production support and maintenance of applications as needed.
• May provide facilitation of activities for Agile teams within ITS as acting Scrum Master.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
• Any SAFe certification (SSM, SASM, SA, SPC, SPMPO).
• 2+ years of experience in systems development, programming or business/systems analysis.
• Familiarity with business systems.
• Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Knowledge of development tools, coding and/or scripting languages and testing.
• Knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and technical design techniques.
• Knowledge of database management and file access methods is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Solid teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience on Agile teams is preferred.
• Knowledge of agile practices in a cross-functional environment preferred.
