About the position

The Developer-Cloud/Big Data role involves coding, testing, and debugging software applications in a cloud and big data environment. The position requires collaboration with a team of analysts, engineers, and quality assurance testers to ensure effective application development and testing. The developer will also be responsible for modifying and updating existing applications and developing software prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Coding, testing, and debugging programs according to computer engineering specifications.
• Modifying, expanding, and updating applications.
• Communicating with a team that includes analysts, engineers, and quality assurance testers to coordinate and document application development and testing.
• Developing software prototypes.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a cloud/big data environment.
• Experience with SQL and non-SQL environments, preferably Spark.
• Understanding of Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, and Containers.
• Expertise in PHP, Python, HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Proven leadership experience in a work setting or through extracurricular activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication of complex ideas, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in related skillsets.
• Ability to perform varied and somewhat difficult work with minimal to moderate supervision.
