About the position

The Developer in Test II role at Expeditors involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex automation and custom test frameworks. This position emphasizes quality assurance and testability in system design and development, while also providing automation test strategies and tools. The Developer in Test will perform quality assurance tasks, including test planning and feature testing, and will play a key role in driving progress within their team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex automation and custom test frameworks.
  • Participate in the design and development of systems with a focus on quality and testability.
  • Provide automation test strategies and tools for technologies and systems.
  • Perform quality assurance tasks such as test planning, test case generation, and feature testing.
  • Act as a driver for progress within the team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience or familiarity with object-oriented languages.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical quality assurance role.
  • Experience working with databases and web application frameworks.
  • Experience with reading/writing code, preferably in Java and Python.
  • Experience working with test automation frameworks.
  • Ability to generate consensus among team members.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude and strong time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and testing best practices.
  • Familiarity with Java application development and Windows/Linux systems.
  • BS in Computer Science or comparable work experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and communicating technical issues.
  • Experience with driving technical and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with SQL and Behavior Driven Development/Test Driven Development experience.
  • Experience with GIT or other versioning tools, IntelliJ, Kafka, Docker, and Webdriver tools.
