As a Developer in the IT Applications team at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems. This position is part of the Information Technology Division, where you will participate in all phases of the development process, from inception through transition. You will advocate for agile processes and test-driven development, utilizing object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects. Your contributions will help make the codebase a better place to live and work, ensuring that the applications and services we provide are robust and efficient. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads, and other developers, as well as internal customers, to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs. You will maintain and enhance existing enterprise services, applications, and platforms using domain-driven design and test-driven development methodologies. Troubleshooting and debugging complex issues will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you identify and implement effective solutions. You will also be responsible for creating detailed project specifications, requirements, and estimates, as well as researching and implementing new technologies to enhance current processes, security, and performance. Supporting the development of coding standards and adhering to best practices and security guidelines will be essential. Working closely with software architects and technical leads, you will ensure that your decisions align with long-term enterprise growth needs, contributing to the overall success of American Airlines.
