About the position

Motion Recruitment Partners is seeking a Developer/SRE to join a Fortune 500 transportation company in Tempe, Arizona, for a contract opportunity. This role is hybrid and allows for remote work from Fort Worth, Texas as well. The Developer/SRE will leverage the latest technology to solve business problems in a collaborative environment, participating in all phases of the development process from inception through transition. The position advocates for the agile process and test-driven development, utilizing object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects, ultimately aiming to enhance the codebase. The contract duration for this position is three months, during which the Developer/SRE will be responsible for determining system interactions and dependencies with other applications and components within the Voice Services product. The role includes on-call support as needed based on a rotation and the severity of issues, routing defects to appropriate internal or external squads for remediation, and managing the Client's problem management policies. Collaboration with monitoring teams to develop new alarms and alerts based on undetected incidents is also a key responsibility, along with defining monitoring types and thresholds for implementation. Additionally, the Developer/SRE will document and maintain a playbook for obtaining Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and participate in weekly calls to understand changes being implemented to the systems. The surrounding team and key projects include Virtual Assistance, Chat, and IVR, making this a dynamic and engaging role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Determine system interactions and dependencies with other applications and components within the Voice Services product.
• Provide on-call support as needed based on rotation and severity of issues.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with monitoring and alarming processes and technology.
• Experience operating with cloud service platforms.
• Ability to stand up a new cloud environment.
• Knowledge of SSL Certs.
• General Networking knowledge.
• Call Center platform experience.
• Experience in forecasting and capacity planning of system and network resources.
• Experience with cost-efficient provisioning of resources.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree or years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
• 5+ years of IT Engineering and/or Operations experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• 1-3 years of experience in Kubernetes cluster and good understanding of containerization and hands-on experience in NGINX Ingress controllers.
• 1-3 years of knowledge with Linux environments.
• Working knowledge of databases: Oracle, SQL, etc.
• Knowledge of Cloud infrastructures (AWS, Google, IBM, etc.).
• Knowledge of Web Servers (Nginx, Apache, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
