About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka + Liferay Developer with over 10 years of hands-on core Java development experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Liferay portal, including Portlets, Layouts, and Themes, and will be proficient in multi-threading and messaging technologies such as MQ, TIBCO, and JMS. The role requires experience in UNIX Shell script development and a solid understanding of databases, particularly SQL and Oracle. The candidate should also be familiar with modern web technologies including Java, Angular/Angular JS, REACT, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS. In addition to technical skills, the candidate will mentor junior developers and actively participate in technical design activities alongside peer technology team leads. Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential, as is experience with software delivery tools like GIT/GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible. The role also involves working with DevOps tools and CI/CD automation, ensuring best practices in software engineering, and contributing to Agile software development processes. The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of REST/JSON and will collaborate with key stakeholders, including Scrum and Delivery teams, to achieve business goals. They will also be responsible for identifying industry best practices and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior developers and participate in technical design activities.
• Document technical specifications and design architecture.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Scrum and Delivery teams.
• Identify industry best practices and pursue continuous improvement opportunities in SDLC processes.
• Contribute to production support for large scale deployment.
• Drive for standardization, automation, and self-services in development processes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on core Java development experience.
• Expertise in Liferay portal (Portlets, Layouts, Themes).
• Experience with multi-threading and messaging technologies (MQ, TIBCO, JMS).
• Proficient in UNIX Shell script development.
• Database experience using SQL and Oracle.
• Experience with Java, Angular/Angular JS, REACT, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, Eclipse, IntelliJ.
• Experience with software delivery tools (GIT/GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible).
• Hands-on experience in scripting languages (Groovy, Python, Bash).
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
• Strong working knowledge of REST/JSON.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Familiarity with CI/CD automation tools.
• Experience in production support (infrastructure and service operation).
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices (quality assurance, review, documentation).
