About the position

The Developers, Database position at T-Mobile in Frisco, TX, is focused on driving the technology stack for the department, including BI and visualization tools, Data Warehouse solutions, and analytical software. The role involves developing ETL pipelines, managing database security, and collaborating with IT and business partners to enhance data capabilities and support project management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technology stack for the department, including BI and visualization tools, Data Warehouse solutions, and analytical software.
  • Develop ETL pipelines in and out of data warehouse using Python and Snowflake's SnowSQL.
  • Design and develop data movements using Snowflake capabilities like Snow SQL, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Data sharing, and stored procedures.
  • Use Big Data technologies such as Kafka and Snowflake to store, curate, process, and publish datasets.
  • Integrate on-premises infrastructure with public cloud (AWS, AZURE) infrastructure.
  • Participate in the development, improvement, and maintenance of database applications.
  • Work with IT partners and user community for project definition and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Perform independent technical analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting, as well as code and unit testing for complex modules.
  • Perform multidisciplinary work supporting data pipelines, data warehouses, and reporting services.
  • Actively test and document implementations for clarity and understanding.
  • Manage database security, including account administration and data encryption.
  • Translate requirements for BI and Reporting to Database design and reporting design.
  • Understand data pipelines and modern automation methods using cloud and on-premises technologies.
  • Collaborate with business and IT partner teams to develop business capability and technology roadmaps.
  • Conduct project management including schedule and resourcing for the department.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer and Information Science or related field and 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science or related field and 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with data migration from Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and Salesforce using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
  • Proficiency in building pipelines using SnowSQL and scheduling jobs with Azure Data Factory.
  • Ability to write SQL stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers for Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Experience in enhancing and maintaining data warehouse performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile Principles and coordinating with Product Owners and vendor teams.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies and cloud integration.
