About the position

The Development and Marketing Manager at Furry Friends Humane plays a crucial role in advancing the organization's mission by managing donor relationships, orchestrating impactful events, and enhancing communication strategies. This position supports the CEO in building strong connections with donors and ensuring effective stewardship, while also overseeing event logistics and grant management. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the organization's growth and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for donor stewardship to ensure long-term engagement and growth.
  • Regularly update donors on organizational milestones and projects they support.
  • Provide day-to-day development support to the CEO, allowing focus on strategic leadership and high-value donor relationships.
  • Ensure timely gift acknowledgments and personalized follow-ups for all donors.
  • Track donor engagement and feedback to refine stewardship strategies.
  • Give tours and make presentations to donors as directed by the CEO.
  • Support the CEO in developing corporate partnerships.
  • Serve as project manager for donor events and related communications.
  • Design, manage, and plan up to four annual events for high-value supporters.
  • Oversee event logistics, including setup, production, and coordination with vendors.
  • Collaborate with the Community Outreach team to manage community-focused events.
  • Identify, write, and manage grants in alignment with funding goals.
  • Maintain a grants calendar and ensure timely submission of applications and reports.
  • Set development and marketing KPIs with the CEO and work to achieve them.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in donor relations and fundraising.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including crafting compelling narratives.
  • High proficiency with Google Workspace and Canva.
  • Working knowledge of donor management platforms like Bloomerang is required.
  • Familiarity with GrantHub/Foundant is preferred.
  • CFRE certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Passion for animal welfare.
