About the position

The Manager of Development and Volunteer Services at NMC Health is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Executive Director of Development and Outreach. This position is responsible for leading a comprehensive volunteer program that effectively supports various departments within the organization, ensuring that volunteers have meaningful and impactful experiences. The role requires collaboration with department directors to identify suitable placements for volunteers, ensuring that their skills and interests align with the needs of the organization. In addition to managing the volunteer program, the Manager will also provide managerial-level support for all development, philanthropy, and grant writing initiatives. This includes overseeing the planning and execution of volunteer projects, ensuring that they are aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. The Manager will be expected to manage competing priorities effectively, balancing day-to-day activities with long-term project goals. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing them to work effectively with a diverse range of personalities while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities are essential, as is the capacity to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently. The role also demands excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in computer operations and software relevant to the position.

Requirements

  • Strong decision-making, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management, initiative, and creativity.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
