About the position

The Development Business Analyst at Paycom Payroll LLC serves as a crucial link between stakeholders and the Custom Report Development team. This role focuses on identifying gaps in system functionality for both new and existing clients, providing detailed problem/solution specifications, and communicating potential enhancements to the product group. The analyst is responsible for delivering high-quality analysis and reports, ensuring that client needs are met through effective collaboration and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with implementation groups to determine gaps in system functionality for current and prospective clients.
  • Provide Custom Report Development teams with problem/solution specifications, building out converters to resolve gaps in system functionality.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure timely completion, testing, and delivery of solutions that meet client needs.
  • Track trends in requests for custom developments and provide analysis to product teams to bridge gaps.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Proactively partner with internal departments to determine reporting and data needs and provide solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis, reports, and presentations using effective visualizations.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with teammates, business leaders, and other internal clients.
  • Continuously monitor data quality and integrity.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and determine if an ad-hoc report may require permanent buildout.
  • Document and maintain procedures for reports and records of information management and storage protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment and communicate across various stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working on large scale software projects and handling operational requests to address gaps in system functionality.
  • Ability to create comprehensive problem/solution plans for elicited gaps in system functionality.
  • Adaptability to learn new software systems and technology quickly.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work with Legal teams to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the SDLC of Custom Report Development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).

Nice-to-haves

  • PMI and/or IIBA certifications (CBAP preferred).
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma.
