About the position

The Development & Communications Specialist at Voices College-Bound Language Academies plays a crucial role in supporting the Central Management Organization (CMO) in fundraising and communication efforts. This position is responsible for coordinating development activities, managing donor relationships, and executing marketing strategies to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strong project planner with a commitment to the mission of improving educational outcomes for Latino youth.

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO, CCO, and Board of Directors in raising funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Execute the annual fundraising plan by developing and tracking proposals and reports for grant-related fundraising.
• Provide briefings and research, set up appointments and small events, and manage communications with donors.
• Proactively manage the pipeline of current and prospective donors to ensure cultivation occurs.
• Use Salesforce to track all activity and measures of success, creating dashboards and reports to inform decisions.
• Ensure timely processing of gifts, contracts, and pledges, including donor recognition.
• Collaborate with the finance team to track grant expenditures and reconcile records in Salesforce.
• Develop and maintain the Voices website and intranet to ensure up-to-date information and branding.
• Lead and execute a social media strategy to enhance visibility and engagement.
• Create and oversee the implementation of project campaign materials and communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, development, communications, or related field.
• Experience with fundraising and social media marketing.
• Excellent research, data collection, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong data analysis skills and experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
• Outstanding project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Salesforce Administrator Certification or extensive use of Salesforce Nonprofit platform.
• Knowledge of and experience working with low-income communities.
• Understanding of public education and public charter schools.
