About the position

The Development Coordinator at The Center for Empowerment and Education (CEE) plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising and development activities. This part-time position involves assisting the Chief Development Officer with planning and coordinating various development initiatives, major fundraising events, and outreach efforts to empower individuals affected by interpersonal violence. The coordinator will also maintain donor databases, conduct research on potential donors, and support communication efforts to enhance community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Development Officer, Special Events Manager, and Grant Writer.
  • Maintain donor database and electronic records of contributors, including in-kind donations.
  • Generate queries, reports, exports, and other collection data as needed.
  • Generate specific acknowledgment letters for all donations that require them.
  • Monthly donation reconciliation with the Finance Department.
  • Conduct donor research on new donors and prospects.
  • Assist with any in-house mailings such as the Annual Report.
  • Attend All Staff meetings/trainings.
  • Demonstrate supportive behaviors and accept personal accountability toward CEE's objectives and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of development/fundraising experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong computer and internet skills, with proficiency in donor development systems, GiftWorks, and Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to manage confidential and privileged information with discretion.
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as an individual as well as a team member.
  • Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple demands.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with donor development systems like GiftWorks.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising practices.
