About the position

Metropolitan Family Services empowers families to learn, to earn, to heal, and to thrive. As part of this mission, we are seeking a Full-time Development Database Administrator to join our Headquarters Team. This role is crucial in overseeing and completing daily gift processing to ensure that all gifts are receipted accurately and in a timely manner. The Development Database Administrator will serve as the primary trainer for Sales Force and related platforms within the department, ensuring that all team members are well-versed in the best practices for maintaining up-to-date and accurate donor information. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing gift acknowledgments, maintaining electronic documentation related to gifts and donors, and designing policies and procedures that govern the use of the database and reporting. You will also respond to data requests, manage the reconciliation process between the External Affairs and Finance Departments, and act as a liaison for any database issues, including installations, upgrades, and performance problems. Additionally, you will remain familiar with key software packages for database management, prospect research, and online giving, providing support to the External Affairs staff as needed. The role may also involve attending special events, volunteer days, and other team projects, making it essential for the candidate to be a team player with strong interpersonal skills. This position requires a commitment to the mission of Metropolitan Family Services and the ability to manage complex projects with excellent organizational skills and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and complete daily gift processing to ensure gifts are receipted.
  • Serve as primary trainer of Sales Force and related platforms for the department.
  • Follow best practices to maintain up to date and accurate donor information.
  • Oversee and execute gift acknowledgements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain electronic gift and donor documentation storage.
  • Design and maintain policies, procedures, training manuals, and documentation related to the use of the database and reports.
  • Respond to data requests such as mailing lists and prospect lists quickly and accurately.
  • Manage the monthly and yearly reconciliation process between External Affairs and Finance Department.
  • Serve as the liaison for database issues including installation, upgrades and patches, special projects or performance issues.
  • Remain familiar with key software packages for the database, prospect research, and online giving and interact with vendors to provide support for the External Affairs staff.
  • Attend special events, volunteer days, and other team projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or related experience required.
  • At least three to five years in related field, data processing, gift analysis or administration preferably in a non-profit environment required.
  • Advanced experience using Sales Force.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with excellent organizational skills and technical expertise.
  • Ability to balance multiple requests and priorities.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills to interact well across all departments.
  • Demonstrates highly effective verbal and written communication and analytical and computer skills.
