About the position

The Development Database Manager is responsible for managing the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's (PHS) primary database, Raiser's Edge and RE NXT. This role involves overseeing data administration, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with various staff members to optimize data management strategies. The position also includes managing a direct report and providing training and support to staff regarding database usage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage PHS's database of record, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and RE NXT.
  • Manage a Development Services Coordinator to execute data administration and administrative tasks.
  • Oversee daily processing of gifts, membership, event registration, volunteer assignment, and constituent biographical data into all PHS databases.
  • Maintain the highest quality and integrity of data in all PHS's established databases.
  • Coordinate data imports into Raiser's Edge from external data sources and data synchronization with other databases.
  • Manage data requests including creating segmented lists, queries, and exports.
  • Work collaboratively with PHS staff to ensure understanding of data contained in PHS databases.
  • Lead new staff orientation and training regarding data administration and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of current practices and trends in Non-Profit Development Operations and Data Analysis and Management.
  • Offer exceptional customer service to constituents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • 5+ years' experience managing Blackbaud Raiser's Edge / RE NXT
  • 3+ years' experience as a people manager
  • Strong database aptitude required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Ability to work in a changing organizational environment
