About the position

The Development Director for Financial Risk Management Delivery at Freddie Mac plays a crucial role in leading the Enterprise Risk Management Technologies Team. This position is responsible for overseeing a sophisticated portfolio of financial risk management and compliance technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business strategies and delivering impactful solutions that enhance the housing finance system. The director will mentor technology teams, manage vendor relationships, and communicate complex technical issues to executive audiences, all while driving the modernization of technology and improving team capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline technology teams to deliver financial risk management and compliance solutions.
• Collaborate with business and technology partners to define technology roadmap and delivery strategy.
• Modernize technology and team capabilities by leveraging emerging trends.
• Implement solutions to meet Corporate and FHFA scorecards.
• Lead reporting and remediation of security vulnerabilities and application obsolescence.
• Assess architectural changes and new technology impacts on the business.
• Prepare materials for senior management reviews and influence executive audiences.
• Attract, recruit, retain, and develop top talent within the team.
• Provide solutions support for identified issues.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant software development and delivery experience.
• 8+ years of management experience.
• 5+ years of software management experience leading other managers.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience directing a team of 20+ IT professionals.
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern architectures (micro-services).
• Proficiency in development languages (Java, JavaScript, Python) and DevSecOps.
• Experience with model governance and AI, as well as SaaS implementations.
• Familiarity with Agile development and product teams.
