About the position
The Development Director at The Salvation Army in Jefferson City is responsible for leading fundraising initiatives and building strong relationships with donors to support the organization's mission of providing essential services to the community. This role involves strategic planning, community engagement, and oversight of fundraising campaigns, ensuring the sustainability of programs that make a significant impact on local lives.
Responsibilities
- Lead fundraising campaigns including direct mail, special events, grant development, sponsorships, and major gift solicitation.
- Cultivate and steward donor relationships to ensure continued support.
- Partner with the Advisory Board Development Committee to engage community leaders and volunteers in our efforts.
- Work closely with regional and divisional teams to share strategies and best practices.
- Plan and manage the annual Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign and other key events.
- Oversee donor records, analyze fundraising performance, and contribute to financial planning and budgeting.
- Serve as a public representative for The Salvation Army at community meetings and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of fundraising or related experience.
- Proven success in donor cultivation, major gifts, and grant writing.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
