About the position

The Development Manager at the Arthritis Foundation is responsible for collaborating with the Executive Director and community volunteer leaders to implement an annual work plan that addresses the needs of the arthritis community. This role focuses on revenue generation, special event fundraising, and mission outreach, while also managing volunteer committees to achieve set goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Director and volunteer leaders in executing plans for revenue generation and special event fundraising.
  • Generate $25,000 - $50,000 in revenue through up to 3 assigned special events and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Plan and implement events, raise funds, solicit sponsors, secure event honorees, and coordinate outreach.
  • Recruit and develop volunteer leaders for local committee roles, fostering a diverse and engaged volunteer pipeline.
  • Cultivate and advance relationships with corporate partners, healthcare providers, and other key constituents.
  • Contribute to building a culture of philanthropy and create an environment of ownership and excellence among volunteers and staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Successful collaborative skills with various groups, including volunteers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to leverage the Arthritis Foundation's mission into effective relationships and projects.
