About the position

The Development Manager for Peer-to-Peer Programs at JDRF is responsible for driving fundraising success for the Northern California Chapter through various events, including the Breakthrough T1D Walk and Ride. This role involves collaboration with national and regional teams, chapter staff, and volunteers to achieve strategic fundraising goals, manage community development activities, and enhance participant experiences. The position requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage multiple projects and engage with supporters to foster growth in fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the chapter's Walk & Peer to Peer programs including Ride in Northern California.
  • Support and implement the strategic plan for the success of the Walk & Peer to Peer programs, aiming for revenue goals of $1.5M+.
  • Manage a fundraising goal and portfolio of supporters to achieve that goal.
  • Oversee chapter Peer to Peer community development activities to engage donors and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with chapter and national/regional staff to drive revenue growth in Walk and Ride programs.
  • Evaluate and expand cultivation opportunities and stewardship for program growth.
  • Develop a pipeline of new volunteers, community leaders, donors, and fundraisers.
  • Follow the Walk annual timeline/calendar to ensure priority activities are achieved on schedule.
  • Utilize CRM data management tools for effective donor pipeline management.
  • Ensure accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to requests.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 4 years of work experience including 3+ years in fundraising or relevant business/volunteer experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM databases, preferably Salesforce.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Grant writing skills are desirable.
  • Experience in new business development and account management is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with outreach activities.
  • Experience in prospect research and developing donor acquisition strategies.
