About the position

The Development Operations Specialist will provide crucial operational support to Plymouth Housing's Resource Development department, focusing on donor engagement and Salesforce management. This role also includes supporting Plymouth's events such as signature fundraising events, third-party beneficiary events, building events and tours, donor cultivation events, and donor appreciation events. The Development Operations Specialist is passionate about Plymouth's mission and will serve as a key member of the Resource Development (RD) Department. Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we're not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing operations support to the Resource Development team.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Database Specialist to manage Salesforce data entry, gift tracking, reporting, and timely acknowledgment.
  • Ensure accuracy in the development of mailing lists and processes with staff, vendors, and the post office.
  • Serve as a backup for the Development Database Specialist.
  • Partner with the Director of Development to oversee monthly donor program logistics to secure sustained, reliable funding for Plymouth.
  • Manage the expanded donor stewardship calendar to deepen relationships and investments from donors, increasing retention, with a specific plan for first-time donors.
  • Ensure donor engagement activities are inclusive, accessible, and value diversity.
  • Work with the Communications Department on external communication pieces related to donor engagement and stewardship.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for donors with questions about Plymouth's mission, investments, and engagement.
  • Develop and sustain thorough knowledge of Plymouth's mission, programs, and services to act as an ambassador for the organization.
  • Participate as a supportive and collaborative member of the department, including growth and learning in DEIB initiatives.
  • Support logistics for Plymouth's events, including fundraising events, donor cultivation tours, donor appreciation events, building groundbreakings and openings, and third-party beneficiary events.
  • Manage the development and execution of event logistics for select secondary events, including relationships with vendors, speakers, guests, volunteers, and sponsors.
  • Ensure that select secondary events are well-managed, produced on time, and on budget.
  • Work with colleagues on event marketing plans and implementation, including online marketing tools, collateral design and production, and social media strategies.
  • Support the donor engagement process for major fundraising events, including registration, attendee stewardship and appreciation, and donor acknowledgments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in non-profit fundraising, operations, donor stewardship, or event coordination.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Publisher).
  • Efficient and effective with customized databases and technology; able to conduct Internet research and comfortable learning new software.
  • Ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with volunteers, donors, vendors, and Plymouth staff members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines professionally.
  • A team player who can take initiative and work independently within department priorities, willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Ability to manage a high level of responsibility with strict attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated solid leadership and ability to work independently.
